Night on the town

SO, last night I went out for the first time in a long time for a longtime friend's birthday. I was so excited to go out alone and look hot and have some drinks ... it was fun but my expectations were too high (sorry friend). It had nothing to do with her, or her friends, or the party ... it was just different. I got there and immediately ordered the martini I had been longing for, for almost a year ... and it wasn't as great as I remembered. The music was good but I'm so used to listening to Makayla's classical music mobile that my eardrums were pounding, I was tired, and all I could think about was the baby. It wasn't what I expected. But, I am greatful my friend invited me out and I got to be there for her on her birthday. Times they are a changin' ... I guess I'm not really a goer-outer anymore.

Here are some pix of Makayla and her bodygaurd (big cousin Noah) from a couple weeks ago.

Random pix and updates

8/14/2006 – Makayla’s first trip to Applebees at only 4 days old. We don’t cook at home so it was only at matter of time before Makayla became a regular at our favorite neighborhood restaurant :)

8/29/2006 – She is sooooo freakin cute when she sleeps … and when she’s awake!

9/1/2006 – Daddy is home for a while now. He’ll get to spend the next couple months with us before he has to go back to work.

9/2/2006 – Makayla’s first Utah game … Go Utes!

9/13/2006 – Her nursery is coming along. We just got our glider and ottoman. Makayla loves it! (Hahaha ... she looks like a doll in this picture ... it is so funny!)

9/15/2006 – She makes the funniest faces.

Meeting Daddy!

Makayla’s Daddy wasn’t able to be at her birth but flew in the day after we got home from the hospital. He was awe-struck by his daughter. His family came over and we all spent the whole day together. Ten hours later when he had to get back on a plane it was very emotional. We were all hysterical … I don’t know how he was able to leave … I never could have gone. Good thing I get to stay home :)
Makayla got dressed up all pretty to pick Daddy up from the airport. From the airport we went straight to the hospital so he could sign her paternity documents and so she could have blood work done for her jaundice. When we finally got to the house we had our first family photo. Daddy and I gave Makayla her first real bath and they spent the rest of the day bonding. It was perfect!
